What is our Recreational Program?
The Recreational Program at GO Capital is the perfect first step into artistic swimming, giving athletes a fun and supportive introduction to the sport while building confidence, skills, and a lifelong love of the water.
Requirements
To participate in our Recreational Programs, athletes should be comfortable swimming:
- 25 metres without assistance
- In deep water without assistance
Equipment needed for all Recreational Programs
- Swimsuit
- Nose clip
- Goggles
- Swim cap
Our Recreational Coaches
Our Recreational Program coaches are all past or current artistic swimmers looking to share their love of the sport with the next generation. All recreational coaches must be at least 15 years old and complete mandatory training including the AquaGO! Instructor Workshop for instructors working in a recreational non-competitive program. Some of our recreational coaches also have their National Lifeguard Certification and additional coaching certifications.
For some classes, your athlete’s coach may also be accompanied by a volunteer who will be assisting with the class. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old and complete mandatory training including the AquaGO! Program Assistant training.
Recreational Program Options
GO Capital Artistic Swimming Club offers TWO Recreational Program options - FULL YEAR PROGRAM and SHORT-TERM PROGRAM - for our recreational athletes. These two programs differ with respect to time commitment and participation in our watershows. Families are encouraged to look at both program options and determine which would be the best fit for their athlete.
