What is the Pre-Competitive Program?
The Pre-Competitive Program is a stepping stone and transition program into our competitive program for younger athletes.
- Targets 10 and under athletes (born in 2016, 2017 and 2018) who show potential to be invited to join the competitive program the following season.
- Follows the training and competition path of our Regional League athletes
- Runs late September to April/early May
Your child also must be:
- comfortable in deep water
- able to submerge while holding their breath
- able to swim two lengths of the pool
- able to tread water for 20 seconds
Age Categories (2025β2026 Season)
Athletes compete at the age they will be on December 31, 2026:
Birth Year β Competitive Age
- 2018 β 8
- 2017 β 9
- 2016 β 10
π Tentative Practice Schedule (2025β2026)
Important Notes:
Brewer Pool is expected to close late fall to early winter for maintenance. A reroute plan will be shared once alternate pool options are confirmed by the City.
Holiday and pool closures β Regular schedules will be modified as required due to pool closures, special events, and holidays. Practice times, days, and locations may be rescheduled or canceled. These dates will be shared as soon as they become available.
10 and Under
- 2 practices/week | 4 hrs total (3h pool + 1h land)
- Thursday 5:30β7:30 p.m. @ Brewer Pool (includes 30 min land)
- Saturday 3:00β5:00 p.m. @ Sawmill Creek Pool (includes 30 min land)
Performances & Competitions
- Watershows: Winter + End-of-Season
- Competitions: 2β3 expected (TBD by Ontario Artistic Swimming (OAS))
- Winter + Spring Regional Competitions (dates and locations TBC)
- Possible local meet in January (TBC)
Start of Season
- Expected Start: Week of September 29 (TBC)
Required Equipment
Please note that these items are NOT included in the fees. Swimmer accounts will be invoiced separately for these items based on specific merchandise needs. All items below are mandatory unless indicated as optional.
- Routine suit (included in fees)
- GO Capital swim cap*
- Club T-shirt*
- Plain white swim cap (for figures)
- Plain black suit (for figures)
- Nose clips
- Goggles
- Practice swim cap
- Yoga mat
- Plain black leggings
- Optional: Plain black shorts
Fees
- Deposit: $250 (non-refundable) due at registration
- Club Fee: $2,175 (NEW: includes banquet ticket for athlete)
- Ontario Artistic Swimming (OAS) / Canada Artistic Swimming (CAS) Fee: $79. These fees will be paid directly by families through a separate online registration system. More information will be shared when available.
Club fees can be paid in full or in installments according to the fee schedule. See the Payment Policy for refund and withdrawal details.
Fundraising
All families are required to pay a set fundraising amount each season (outlined in the fee schedule). Funds raised are credited back to your account. Fundraising may benefit either the Club or the individual athlete.
- Club-directed: Supports Club needs (equipment, coachesβ uniforms, operations). Examples: Watershows, Swim-a-thon
- Athlete-directed: Offsets personal costs. Examples: Purdyβs Chocolate, FlipGive, Fundscrip
Volunteering
All families pay a volunteer levy (outlined in the fee schedule), which is credited back if volunteer hours are completed.
- Meet roles: Scoring, hospitality, audio/video, etc.
- Non-meet roles: Board of Directors, fundraising, event support
