What is the Regional League Program?

The Regional League Program is perfect for swimmers who want more advanced training than recreational options, while enjoying a fun, team-based environment with an introduction to competition.

Important Notes: 

Brewer Pool is expected to close late fall to early winter for maintenance. A reroute plan will be shared once alternate pool options are confirmed by the City. 

*University pools close mid-April for maintenance. Reroutes will be shared in advance.

Holiday and pool closures - Regular schedules will be modified as required due to pool closures, special events, and holidays. In order to accommodate these, practice times, days, and locations may be rescheduled or canceled. These dates will be shared as soon as they become available.

 

12 and Under

  • 2 practices/week | 4 hrs total (3h pool + 1h land)
  • Monday 5:30–7:30 p.m. @ Brewer Pool (includes 30 min land)
  • Friday 4:30–6:45 p.m. @ Bob MacQuarrie Pool (includes 30 min land)

 

Youth (13–15) 

  • 2 practices/week | 4 hrs total (3h pool + 1h land)
  • Friday 4:30–6:45 p.m. @ Bob MacQuarrie Pool (includes 30 min land)
  • Sunday 12:30–2:30 p.m. @ *Ottawa University Pool (includes 30 min land)

 

Junior (16–20)

  • 2 practices/week | 4 hrs total (3h pool + 1h land)
  • Thursday 6:30–8:30 p.m. @ Brewer Pool (includes 30 min land)
  • Sunday 8:00–10:00 a.m. @ *Carleton University Pool (includes 30 min land)

 

Performances & Competitions

  • Watershows: Winter + End-of-Season (dates and locations TBC)
  • Competitions: 2–3 expected (TBD by Ontario Artistic Swimming (OAS))
    • Winter + Spring Regional Competitions
    • Possible local meet in January (TBC)

 

Start of Season

  • Expected Start: Week of September 29 (TBC)
  • Team Selections: First week of programming
  • Assignments shared via email before full team practices begin

 

Required Equipment

Please note that these items are NOT included in the fees and swimmer accounts will be invoiced separately for these items based on specific merchandise needs. The following items will be mandatory unless indicated as optional:

  • Routine suit (included in fees)
  • GO Capital swim cap*
  • Club T-shirt*
  • Plain white swim cap (for figures -12U only)
  •  Plain black swimsuit (for figures -12U only)
  • Nose clips
  • Goggles
  • Practice swim cap
  • Plain black leggings
  • Optional: Plain black shorts
  • Optional: Yoga mat

 

Fees

  • Deposit: $250 (non-refundable) due at registration
  • Club Fee: $2,175 (*NEW* includes end-of-season banquet ticket for athlete)
  • Ontario Artistic Swimming (OAS) / Canada Artistic Swimming (CAS) Fee: $79. Note: These fees will be paid directly by families through a separate online registration system - more information on the process for payment will be shared once available.

Club fees can be paid in full or in installments based on the fee schedule available during the registration process. Please refer to the GO Capital Artistic Swimming Payment Policy for information related to refunds and withdrawals.

Fees do NOT include competition registration, coach per diem, travel (if applicable), or extra merchandise β€” billed separately as incurred.

 

Fundraising

As part of season registration fees, all families are required to pay a set fundraising amount set annually by the Board of Directors (outlined in the fee schedule available during registration). Funds raised per family are credited back to your account. Fundraising may directly benefit the Club or the athlete.

  • Club-directed: Supports Club-wide needs (e.g. equipment, coaches uniforms, off-set operational costs) Examples: Watershows, Swim-a-thon
  • Athlete-directed: Helps offset personal costs Examples: Purdy’s Chocolate, FlipGive, Fundscrip

 

Volunteering

As part of the registration fees, all families are required to pay a volunteer levy identified annually by the Board of Directors (outlined in the fee schedule available during registration).

Credited back to your family account at season’s end if volunteer hours are completed.

  • Meet roles: Scoring, hospitality, audio/video, etc.
  • Non-meet roles: Board of Directors position, fundraising and other event coordination or support
